Regional Manager: Operations

Job Description

To manage and ensure the optimal use of resources of Regional Operations in order to enforce the Industry Collective Agreement through sound internal business processes, proper funds administration, dispute resolutions and arbitrations.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop operational plans for the region that is aligned to the Operational Strategy, supported by a resource plan (Financial, Human Resources, Technology, Policies and Stakeholders).
• Manage and equip the region with the right skills through a well-defined regional organizational structure, roles and responsibilities.
• Develop, recommend and implement approved annual budget that will enable the region to achieve its annual goals and objectives.
• Ensure the accurate and timeous implementation of operational, transactional and compliance procedures and policies in support of the regional plans and strategic objectives of the organization.
• Ensure the optimization of the technology platform by all stakeholders to deliver on the regional plans.
• Prepare and present regional and statistical reports to the GM: Operations and other relevant committees as and when required on a monthly basis.
• Ensure the implementation of (internal and external) audit recommendations related to the regional functions.
• Manage regional risks identified by developing and implementing mitigating plans.
• Build and maintain relationships with NBCRFLI internal stakeholders, parties, non-parties, the CCMA and DOL.
• Oversee and manage regional compliance with the Industry Collective Agreement through proper fund management, dispute resolutions, litigation and exemptions.
• Get involved with technical and complex dispute resolution matters or any other matters that have been escalated due to the level of interaction required or complexities involved in cases.
• Manage and ensure efficient enforcement of Main Collective Agreement at Regional level and Agreement administration of income of industry employee benefits, collection and payment of benefits thereof.
• Represent Council at Regional forums where appropriate and as mandated from time to time.
• Oversee overall Regional Human Resource needs and Industrial relations management and represent Council at CCMA in event of disputes relating to internal staff.
• Analyze, monitor and report on monthly basis the income deviations and reasons thereof.
• Maximize revenue collection and ensure that the Regional Budget is achieved and where revenue forecast deviation is identified, review in the midterm forecast.
